Harbor church exists for the glory of God. We are a group of people who don't have it all together but who, by the power of Jesus Christ, are living God's way. We love God and do what we can in the Seacoast to love our neighbors by blessing the city and serving the poor. Glad you've visited our site. You can learn a lot from this website, but the best way to learn about us is to join us on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm at the North Church building in Market Square, Portsmouth, NH.

FAQs

What should I wear?
Whatever you normally wear. We are more concerned with getting to know you than with what you wear. At Harbor you'll see nearly every style of clothing. Just don't wear a tie unless you want us to know you're a visitor!

What happens at a Sunday meeting?
On most Sundays, we will have about 20 minutes of modern, relevant worship during which time you can feel free to stand, sit or dance around. It's a powerful worship experience led by local musicians - not just a show but a God-encounter! After that we have a 5 minute break when parents can take their kids to our kids program and so that everyone else can visit. Afterward, someone from our leadership team will bring a relevant message from the bible. Each week there is always an opportunity to receive prayer for any situation and to respond to the message with worship. Afterwards, you can come down for our After Hours party at the Underground.

Am I expected to give money?
It is important to us that guests do not feel pressured to give anything. What's of primary importance to us is that you connect with Jesus. All of our giving is in response to him and part of our worship.

What about my kids?
We love kids at Harbor Church and the funny thing is, kids seem to love it here too! We invite all of the kids to stay in during our time of singing so they can see what it's like for adults to worship God.  When it is time for the sermon, we have all the parents walk their kids around the corner to our church office, the Underground, which is located at 40 Pleasant Street, just on the next block! During the break, you'll have time to walk with your children to the offices to meet the leaders, check your children in and see for yourself how we take care of kids at Harbor.

What is Newfrontiers?
Harbor is joined with a worldwide family of churches called Newfrontiers. We feel God has connected our hearts together in mission, relationship, and shared values. Through our relationship with Newfrontiers, we benefit from apostolic input and other ministries listed in Ephesians 4 (namely prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers - who travel amongst the churches).
